Blackwater Creek Trail

Monday, June 7th There is a fabulous paved bike/waking trail here in Lynchburg. I think it is about 10 miles long. There are several different entrances onto this trail and we decided to try a new section of the trail to take an evening stroll while Grandma was visiting. We took the boardwalk across the James River to an island where the trail continues. I love the trail because it is always shaded and cool even on hot humid Virgina Summer days. Plus the path is flat which makes it easy for the kids to enjoy (we don't find a lot of flat areas in this hilly state).

Once the kids reached their allotted walking time, Grandma treated us to dinner at the Depot Grill. This was an old train station turned into a restaurant. There is a lot of character and history inside the Grill which makes dinning there much more fun.

Zachery loved the spiced apples!

And Savannah is our odd ball child who loves sucking on lemons. I think bad teeth might be in her future if she continues this habit.

Random Photos from June

Zachery is growing big! He loves to be Mister Independent and wants to do what everyone else is doing, including using utensils like the rest of us. He has been using a spoon all by himself for awhile now and is pretty good at it. His morning routine consists of a banana, cereal, and a cup of Orange Juice. Daddy is his favorite breakfast buddy. If I get up with him for breakfast he tends to throw a fit. When daddy is in the room, he is the only one who can serve him his breakfast. Silly kid. At least it gives me an excuse to sleep in longer, since Zach gets up around 6ish.

The last day of school was on Savannah's birthday. We went to RJ's class room a little early to pick him up and give his teacher a Thank You gift. The class heard it was Savannah's birthday and sang her Happy Birthday. She was in high heaven having those kindergartens singing to her.

RJ with his Kindergarten teacher. She was an awesome teacher. She will be teaching 2nd grade next year and RJ hopes he might have her again once he reaches 2nd grade.

RJ received The Good Citizen of the Year Award for Kindergarten. We are so proud of him!

Grandma was here visiting the beginning of June. We had some fun times with her and glad she was able to visit and celebrate Savannah's Birthday with us.

Hmmmm, can we say spoiled! Yikes look at all those dolls and ponies!

Grandma gave Savannah this cute beach chair for her Birthday. She loves it! Thanks Grandma!

My cute little guy.

RJ and Savannah wanted to do Summer School. So we have been doing math and writing work sheets every morning. If I forget to put out their "homework" I get in trouble.

Our little baker.

In June, Jared and I were able to take a trip to DC and do a session at the temple. Some friends of our watched our kids over night. It was a great trip!

More June Photos to come.

Recent Scrapbook Pages

While I am working through my photos from June, here are a few Scrapbook pages I have worked on the past couple months. All have been published in the Scrap Girls newsletter during the past two months.

This photo was taken last summer during our last trip to the Spray Park in Rexburg. RJ, Seth, & Savannah were so intrigued with the ants. They sat and watched them for a good ten minutes.
Supply list.

The text on this two page spread was taken from my Grandfather's obituary.
Jared stayed up late one night and helped to figure out how to get the photos looking like they were really on the page of that book. He did an awesome job, he has more patience with technology then I do. Supply list.

I just loved this photo. I took it of my friend Lauren and her little guy while we were visiting the National Zoo in DC back in April.
Supply List.

These our photos of my mother. The text on this page in incorrect. I just wrote what ever came to mind to get my page finished by my deadline. Mom, expect an interview call soon so I can get my journaling updated. Supply List.

After I finished this page I found out what kind of tree we have in our front yard. It is called a Red Bud. I just love it. The spring blossoms are such a gorgeous purple!

Updates soon to come

Wow! It is already July and I never blogged about June with the exception of Savannah's Birthday party. I have so much to blog. I plan on tackling that after we celebrate the 4th. So until then. Happy Independence Day to everyone.
