4th of July

Jared, Jen, and Zach went to Virgina from the 1st to the 3rd. We took three airplanes to get to Lynchburg and Zachery did awesome on all three. Everyone complemented us on having such a good happy baby. Because it was such a short trip and we spent most of the time in the car driving around, I didn't get any pictures except this one at the Lynchburg airport in VA.
Why were we in VA? Jared had an interview. More on that later.

RJ and Savannah spent the time in Rexburg at my Aunt's house. We met up with them on the 4th and spent the 4th of July with them, having a yummy BBQ and doing our own fireworks.

My cute little American boy

Savannah coloring in her new Strawberry Shortcake coloring book.

RJ and Seth playing a Tractor Tippin' Game

Zachery's first time on grass. He didn't seem to mind it at all.

Waiting for fireworks.
Playing with Sparklers.

"Now that's what I call a Fireworks Party!"

A neighbor brought over a bowl full of strawberries freshly picked from her garden. She became Savannah's new best friend. Forget the fireworks, give this girl some strawberries.

Zac enjoyed the display but some of the loud ones caused a few tears.

RJ was in heaven! He owed and awed over everything.

By the end of the night we had three tired and cranky kids but it was worth it.

Brothers, Indeed

Left- RJ taken July '04 age: 4.5 months
Right- Zac taken July '09 age 3 months

I get a lot of people asking if Zachery looked like RJ or Savannah. I always thought he had his own look but leaned more to looking like his sister. Because he has an older brother he is lucky enough to have tons of hand me downs :). I thought it would be fun to compare RJ's baby picture against Zac's wearing the same outfit just to see how similar they are. even though RJ is a month ands a half older in this picture then Zac is in his, they are pretty close to the same size. RJ was such a tiny baby. Seeing the two side by side, I do think Zachery looks a lot like is brother maybe more so then he looks like his sister like I originally thought. What do you think? I'll have to compare some photos of all three of them.

Sunset

I LOVE Idaho sunset!!
This was taken from my front yard. I usually don't get a good view of the sunsets because of all the trees and houes that are in the neighborhood.
My dream house will have a perfect view of every sunset.

Weekend with Grandma Pearce and Cousin Makale

These photos are from June 25th-28th.

Grandma Pearce (Jared's mom) came for a visit and brought Makale along, who she was watching while his parents were in NC for the weekend. The kids loved having Grandma around and enjoyed the time playing with their cousin.

Sammie watched the kids while I went shopping. It was nice to finally shop with one kid again and Zachery slept the whole time, so it turned out to be a wonderful break. While I was gone the kids made cupcakes.

Savannah and Makale covered my bathroom floor with water, but they had a blast doing it. After this photo was taken we stopped the water fight and dried everybody up.

Before bed RJ and put on a show and Makale chimed in with the homemade shaker.

Saturday we went to a small free carnival. The kids had a blast and we loved that everything, included lunch, was free.

I love the way RJ is sitting here.

The man with the ponies was kind enough to let both RJ and Savannah sit on a pony for a picture. Makale was too busy running around to pet and sit on the pony.

Face painting!
RJ wanted to look like Indiana Jones. The face painting lady gave him glasses and some stubble. In the end RJ thought he looked like a leopard.

Savannah wanted to look like a princess

(I can never get her to look at the camera)

Makale wasn't into the face painting.

Zachery slept through the entire event.

Grandma bought each one of the kids a fun activity to do. Makale got some play dough toys which he loved and played with for hours.

RJ built and painted and air plane, he is so into building things, he loved every minute of it. And Savannah's project was to decorate a princess mirror with glitter and rhinestones. She showed off her mirror for days after it was all dried.

Talking on the phone to mommy.

Jumping on the tramp.

I love these next two pictures of Savannah. I, of course, think she is the prettiest little girl and I always have the hardest time getting her to look at the camera. After following her around outside and taken several shots I finally got these two photos were she looked at the camera!!! I was so excited. Can't wait to scrap them.

Puzzle time.
My two kids love doing puzzles.

RJ has been begging me to have a water balloon fight for weeks. We finally decided to break out the balloons. The kids had fun. Makale was a little confused but he enjoyed picking up handfuls of balloons and throwing them in the grass.

Zachery update

We were able to bless Zachery last Sunday. Jared's mom was in town as well as one of Jared's old roommates. My Aunt, Uncles, and cousins joined us to. Jared gave a wonderful blessing and we enjoyed lunch with Doug and his family. Later an old neighbor came by with their clan and we had an enjoyable dinner with them as well. So Sunday turned out to be a very busy day.
Zachery didn't enjoy the laying down position during the blessing. He kept trying to sit up. He didn't cry but he did whimper a little as he struggled to pull himself up. He loves to be up and standing and looking around.

He will usually sit in his swing for awhile and coo or chew on his fists.

He is really staring to look at things and is even reaching for them as well.

On lucky days I can get him to lie down on his gym mat for a half-n-hour, I love days like that. It is fun to watch him grab at things.

And because he likes to stand so much we tried out the saucer, much earlier then we did with the other kids. Zachery can really hold his head up well and I was surprised at how well he did in the saucer. Now to get him to sleep through the night :)
