It is 65 degrees!

So this past week has been an ordinary week. We didn't do too much except hang around the house. We had some nice days where we went outside and then we had some days where it snowed. I think it was Wednesday night it started snowing and snowed all night long. By 11 am it was melted, thankfully. RJ loves making forts. He wanted one to watch his movie in and of course Savannah had to have one too, like most siblings they have a hard time sharing.
Friday was Seth's birthday and RJ bought this construction outfit for him. He really wants one for himself. I told him to talk to Grandma next week.
Saturday it reached 60 degrees, I spent the day outside with the kids enjoying the weather and working in the yard and Jared worked on the room upstairs, finally getting some sheet rock up. Friends are coming up to visit this week and we needed the sheet rock up so their boys could stay in the room and not have to worry about them playing with the insulation.

Later that night we got a babysitter and enjoyed an evening of shopping & dinner without the kids. I finally got my new New Balance shoes that I have been wanting and we got Jared some new clothes, thanks to our tax return. We almost got spontaneous and bought a sofa. We will be lucky if our couch makes it much longer. The fabric is badly torn. We found a great deal for a sectional sofa, coffee table, and 2 end table for $1,200. We just weren't sure about getting into more debt. We'll see how long our couch does last.

Savannah was able to finally wear her Easter dress. We were sick during Easter then the following Sunday it was a cold day and Daddy had bought her a cute brown fall dress so she wore that one. Then last Sunday was Conference, so today she finally got to wear it today. If I would have known it would have taken this long to wear it I would have waited and bought it on clearance. But by then I might not have found it.

We had a problem a church today. When I went to pick Savannah up from nursery her teachers talked to me about Savannah biting a little girl. The girl had a small welt on her arm from the bite. Apparently it was clean up time and the girl had taken a toy away from Savannah and she got mad. Savannah has been doing this to RJ too, when she gets upset. I'm not sure what to do. We have tried to bite her back so she knew how it felt but that hasn't worked. Any ideas?

RJ and another hat. I think he looks so cute in his cowboy hat.
Today it reached 65 degrees. It was great! The hottest day we have had so far and after church we spent the evening outside enjoying it. RJ dove his Jeap around, Savannah played in the sand, Sally found a cat to chase out of the yard, and Jared and I enjoyed sitting in the sun and watching it all.
RJ backing his Jeep up. I love how he puts his arm around the other seat.

Savannah loves Sally and Sally loves having her belly scratched.
This is the back half of our backyard where this summer we will keep a cow. RJ and I took a walk around the perimeter looking for rocks. He would carry a large rock around looking for a bigger one. Then he would put the one he had down and take the bigger one. He kept doing this until he got a big one that he couldn't carry very far. After a few steps with this rock he was done. He put it down and didn't look for any more rocks.

Painting Bird house

We finally got around to painting the barn bird house that RJ had put together with Grandpa at Christmas time. He and Savannah had a lot of fun. Savannah only helped a little bit. Once she started eating the paint we took her away from the project.

RJ picked out all the colors, I think he did a great job!
(I, of course, helped a little bit with the painting)

Enjoy the warmer weather.

So the weather has warmed up a little, it has been in the upper 40's and we haven't had any snow fall for a week. It was forecast to rain by the end of the week so we took every advantage we could to enjoy the outside before the rain came (which never did) RJ was so excited to drive his car all over the yard. Oh and he has a thing for hats, it really wasn't that cold that he needed it, he just wanted to wear it.
Of course Savannah and Sally loved the freedom of running around. Savannah is try to get Sally to play with one of her toys, but the dog was too interested in running around and the yard now that she was off her chain.
RJ begged me to play in the sand box. I was a little unsure about it, think the sand might be too damp. There was still a huge chunk of ice on the trap covering the sandbox. With a little effort we were able to break it up and pull the trap off to see what the sand was like. It wasn't too bad so I let them play while I cleaned up a little of the yard. It was nice to be outside doing some yard work (I know my parents are probably laughing at that line, Jennifer doing yard work and enjoying it, HA HA HA!) But I was enjoying it, except all the dog poop (sorry) I had to pick up.
You can see the big trunk in the back, that is a willow tree. I loved the thought of having one when we first moved here. But boy do they make a mess in the fall and winter. I raked tons of leaves and twigs last fall and I still have tons to rack up this spring. I just filled a trash can full and didn't even clean up half of it.

On Thursday we went to the park. The kids loved it.

I love this picture.

Bugs!!

Ok, can anyone define this bug for me??? We have them all over the place and they are driving me crazy. I remember having them in St. Anthony but it seems like we have like ten times as many here. I keep killing them and more and more are found. They don't seem to do much except gross me out. They can fly but they mostly crawl. I have been awaken in the middle of the night by one crawling on my arm, flying by my ear, and once even crawling on my face. That was a horrible night, I couldn't go back to sleep for hours. They are driving me crazy! And I don't know what they are. Someone told me they were stink bugs, but if so why are they called that. I haven't smelled any kind of stink. They are bugging me out!

RJ's Scrapbooking Lay Out

RJ is always asking to help me "play" on Photoshop when I am doing my scrapbooking. He likes to pick the colors and move things around. I decided to let him make his own Lay Out and this is what he created. (Grandma's he is hoping you will leave a comment about what you think)
