It is 65 degrees!

So this past week has been an ordinary week. We didn't do too much except hang around the house. We had some nice days where we went outside and then we had some days where it snowed. I think it was Wednesday night it started snowing and snowed all night long. By 11 am it was melted, thankfully. RJ loves making forts. He wanted one to watch his movie in and of course Savannah had to have one too, like most siblings they have a hard time sharing.
Friday was Seth's birthday and RJ bought this construction outfit for him. He really wants one for himself. I told him to talk to Grandma next week.
Saturday it reached 60 degrees, I spent the day outside with the kids enjoying the weather and working in the yard and Jared worked on the room upstairs, finally getting some sheet rock up. Friends are coming up to visit this week and we needed the sheet rock up so their boys could stay in the room and not have to worry about them playing with the insulation.

Later that night we got a babysitter and enjoyed an evening of shopping & dinner without the kids. I finally got my new New Balance shoes that I have been wanting and we got Jared some new clothes, thanks to our tax return. We almost got spontaneous and bought a sofa. We will be lucky if our couch makes it much longer. The fabric is badly torn. We found a great deal for a sectional sofa, coffee table, and 2 end table for $1,200. We just weren't sure about getting into more debt. We'll see how long our couch does last.

Savannah was able to finally wear her Easter dress. We were sick during Easter then the following Sunday it was a cold day and Daddy had bought her a cute brown fall dress so she wore that one. Then last Sunday was Conference, so today she finally got to wear it today. If I would have known it would have taken this long to wear it I would have waited and bought it on clearance. But by then I might not have found it.

We had a problem a church today. When I went to pick Savannah up from nursery her teachers talked to me about Savannah biting a little girl. The girl had a small welt on her arm from the bite. Apparently it was clean up time and the girl had taken a toy away from Savannah and she got mad. Savannah has been doing this to RJ too, when she gets upset. I'm not sure what to do. We have tried to bite her back so she knew how it felt but that hasn't worked. Any ideas?

RJ and another hat. I think he looks so cute in his cowboy hat.
Today it reached 65 degrees. It was great! The hottest day we have had so far and after church we spent the evening outside enjoying it. RJ dove his Jeap around, Savannah played in the sand, Sally found a cat to chase out of the yard, and Jared and I enjoyed sitting in the sun and watching it all.
RJ backing his Jeep up. I love how he puts his arm around the other seat.

Savannah loves Sally and Sally loves having her belly scratched.
This is the back half of our backyard where this summer we will keep a cow. RJ and I took a walk around the perimeter looking for rocks. He would carry a large rock around looking for a bigger one. Then he would put the one he had down and take the bigger one. He kept doing this until he got a big one that he couldn't carry very far. After a few steps with this rock he was done. He put it down and didn't look for any more rocks.

Aren't you so glad to finally be having spring weather!?! I am! You have so much fun with your kids. Savannah looked darling in her Easter dress! I don't know what to do about the biting. Sorry. RJ is so grown up. Did you know Lea asked to play with RJ the other day? So are you planning another trip to California? Let me know. I'll be there in May. :)

What adorable kids. The Easter dress is so cute. So, which Grandma is RJ supposed to ask? HaHa.
Can't wait to see you all!

Yay for warm weather! We had two nice days Friday and Sat!! It's so nice even if it's just a glimps (it's rainy and cold today). Biting? My advice would be to that when you see her doing it redirect her right away, let her know that it's not ok, it hurts people and don't give it more attention...I wouldn't bite her back b/c I think it would be confusing, like that it's ok...if you address it right away and then don't give her any attention she might learn that biting doesn't get her anything and she'll stop. Good Luck!

Hey! So glad it's getting warmer for you...Winter lasted forever this year! About the biting, (I do early childhood development education as a social worker, so I have a bit of background!) fortunately, it tends to be a short-lived phase because most children quickly learn it is NOT acceptable. The best way to nip it in the bud is to administer a consequence on the spot. Saying "No TV today" doesn't work because the message has to be loud and clear: you bite, you get an immediate consequence. A time-out/removal from the situation works well. Instruct her caregivers to do the same if she bites when you're not around. Toddlers usually bite out of sheer frustration and anger. They don't have the verbal ability to communicate, so they act out aggressively. Tell her it's okay to be angry, but it's not okay to bite. Hope that helps!

Oh, the sun!!! How we love the sun!! I head it is snowing right now. Idaho weather is crazy. I am sure it will be gone tomorrow. And in July, you can build a pretty good snowman.
