Butterfly Bush & Turtle

We having been noticing a lot of butterflies in our yard lately. They seem to be attracted to one of the bushes in our front yard. The kids have loved going out to the bush and watching all the butterflies drinking the nectar from the purple flowers.

As we were doing some yard work, Jared came across this box turtle. This has been the third turtle we have found in the neighborhood. It is so neat to me to have so many wild animals roaming around; turtles, deer, rabbits, ground hogs. It seems silly but we have never been in a neighborhood with animals with exceptions of neighborhood farms.
We have a fenced in pond area in our backyard. It is very over grown. I hope to clean it out and make it usable again for next spring. Until then, we put our turtle in that area. Savannah has since been hunting, with no luck, for her "pet" turtle in the tall brush.
I'm sure we'll find he again soon.

The photos you took of the butterflies are beautiful. I hope you can do something with them in your scrape booking.
