I just wanted to document this conversation. It gave me a laugh.
We brought one of RJ's friends home with us after Preschool today. Here is one of their conversations.
Matthew: You know what is sad?
RJ: What?
Matthew: I got a new grandma, but she died.
RJ: Oh, that is bad. But I got something even sadder.
Matthew: What
RJ: Last night my sister broke my Indiana Jones whip!!!
Matthew: Oh, that is sad! But, I bet my dad could fix it.
RJ: No, no one can fix it. It is really broken.
Matthew: My dad has lots of tools
RJ: So does my dad, but it is really broken.
Matthew: Oh.
And then onto the next topic.

Finally Outside Again
First of all I want to say congratulations to Monica who had her first baby boy last night. I am so excited for her and know that I am soon to follow. I have been waiting for her announcement knowing the time for babies is finally here. She is the first of a long line of friends to have their babies this year. Next should be my good friend Aleena which will mean I don't have too much longer to follow.
This week I was hoping my baby room would be finished so I can start going through baby clothes and things with a place to put them. Jared has worked hard the last few weekends but was unable to complete the project before March like I had hoped. He is doing an awesome job trying to make it the prefect room. It is going to be the best constructed room in the house! He just finished the last of the taping and mudding. He still needs to texture it, paint it, and install carpet. Not sure when we will get it done. I think it is time to start stacking baby items in my room so at least they are out of the basement.
Jared is on a business trip to Argentina right now. I just got an email saying he made it safely after a long day of flying. Unfortunately his phone isn't working down there. He is hoping to get that fixed soon. I'm glad he had access to the Internet.
So onto my post for the day.
Yesterday was a beautiful warm day. The sun was out, except for the few times it hid behind the clouds, and the temperature was in the low 50's. First time it has been that warm this year. So I thought we better take advantage of it since the forecast predicted more rain/snow clouds this week. After lunch I put jackets on the kids and boots, knowing they would get plenty wet. And we took a walk around the neighborhood. It felt so good to be outside with out freezing my bum off.

We stopped at a neighbor's house to deliver a Thank Note from RJ's party. They had two cats sitting on their porch and we had a hard time pulling Savannah away. She is such an animal lover. This Black cat was really friendly and wanted to be pet. But she didn't like the idea of being picked up. Once Savannah tried to pick her up she reached up and scratched Savannah across the check. Still didn't stop Savannah from trying to pet and cuddle with the kitties. I wonder about her some times. She is such a tough little cookie.
A few hours later the clouds thickened up and light rain showers came again. I was glad we got outside early enough to enjoy the sun and fresh air. It is getting really annoying being inside all the time. I was worried that RJ would complain the whole time we were out. He did that a lot last Summer. He is such a computer and video game geek. He loves to play his games and being stuck inside during the cold winter doesn't help break his addiction. But he didn't complain once while outside. He told me later that it was a lot of fun. He collected some things along the way and wanted to compare them when he got home. He found a piece of metal and said he wanted to "entertain" it.
RJ: "I need to entrain this"
Me: "Do you mean analyze?"
RJ: "No entertain. It's a big word!"
Me: "Do you know what entertain means?"
RJ: "No, but it is a big word."
Me: "Yes it is a big word."
I had to explain what entertain means and that he wasn't going to be entertaining metal. Funny guy. He spent an hour in his room analyzing his piece of metal trying to figure out what it came from. His first idea was flip shades, his second thought was from a statue. He crossed off both ideas and has yet to come up with third guess. He may not have been entertaining the metal, but I was quite entertained.

Why I like March
Well it is March which means Spring is almost here. Of course Idaho doesn't seem to think so. Luckily Idaho Falls is a little more willing to allow Spring to come then St. Anthony did.
March also means the fun of St. Patrick's day, why this Irish holiday is so cool and popular in the US, I don't know. Maybe it is just the fun of believing in leprechauns and pots of gold. I know we could sure use a pot of gold, as could many right now. Whatever it is, I have some Irish blood in me (very little, but some) so it is has always been something to look forward too. Jared also has a little Irish blood running through his veins. So does that mean RJ and Savannah are a little bit more Irish then the two of us? Even more reason to get into the fun of St. Patty's Day.
Another thing that March brings is my birthday. I still get to say I am in my twenties so my birthday is still something to look forward too. I really dread 30! But I still have two more years. I am already craving my favorite birthday cake, I can't wait (Angel food cake with fresh strawberries and whip cream, basically a strawberry shortcake). Strawberries make March another special month. They are coming into season (other places in the world) and the stores are finally stocked with good strawberries again and will be throughout the summer.
And this March is that much more special because my baby boy is due to be born. I don't believe he will come in March, but just the fact that he is supposed to be here makes March that much more exciting.
So here's to and good and happy month!
(BTW: I started a new blog to keep track of my Digital Scrapbooking pages. If anyone wants to take a peek and leave nice comments the link is on the top left side)

RJ's Birthday
So my little guy is five. I can't believe it. RJ was so excited to turn five, he can't wait till kindergarten starts. In fact he thought he would be starting kindergarten as soon as he turned five and said good-bye to all his friends at preschool. He was a little disappointed when I told him that he had to wait till Summer was over.
RJ's actually birthday was Friday but we weren't planning to celebrate until Saturday. Jared was in TN last week and got home Friday afternoon and Papa Wight was driving up from CA and wasn't planning on making it in till Saturday. So I tired to make RJ's actually birthday special as well. He got to pick out what we ate for every meal. Breakfast was pancakes and I made him a number five pancake which he was really excited about.
For lunch we went to McDonald's, of course. And then for Dinner we had Hot Dog twists and Apple Sauce. What a healthy day! I guess birthday's aren't supposed to be healthy.
We let RJ open two presents and got an Indiana Jones hat and whip and a Star Wars Lego set. He was so excited about the hat and whip he posed like Indiana for these pictures. He is such a character.

After dinner He and Daddy spent the evening putting his new Lego set together. RJ did most of it by himself. He is getting really good at following directions and building things.
Saturday we went to Blast Off with a Hand full of friends to celebrate. The kids all had a blast. It was very busy there, being a cold winter Saturday but we had fun. After about an hour of play the kids came to the table for a pizza snack followed by cake and ice cream.

Fun blog sites
For anyone who enjoys baking and creating. I came across this blog while visiting a friends blog. I thought there were some very yummy cool looking treats on there. Thought some of you might enjoy it as well. http://bakerella.blogspot.com/
And for all you with little girls; a friend posted this blog on her blog and tired out a valentine's hair style. It was cute! I think I am going to have to do some more playing around with Savannah's hair and see what fun things I can do (if she'll let me.) http://cutegirlshairstyles.blogspot.com/
