Our Sunday Night Scare

We are safe and sound back up in Idaho. We got back Sunday morning at 6:30am. It was a long night and we probably should have stopped and stayed the night somewhere in Nevada. We did so much in CA that we wore ourselves out. But it was fun. I think we did a lot because we had been so confined to the house the past several months on account to all the snow we have had. While we were in CA we heard that it had snowed a few times here in Idaho. I was really reluctant to get back. But we have been blessed with wonderful weather here the last two days. However it is expected to rain the next week and a half. I guess rain is better then snow right now.

Sunday night we had a bit of a scare. For the record RJ is just fine. He is a lucky boy. It could have easily been so much worse. You here these kind of stories and think it would never happen to you. Ok back to Sunday night. After spending the day sleeping, we went to our neighbors to visit for awhile and let her know we were back. The kids started to get cranky and I knew they were in need of dinner so I brought Savannah in the house to start making dinner. RJ followed behind with Jared. Jared needed to bring the car into the garage and told RJ to get in the house. He of course didn’t want to and they argued about it. Jared finally let RJ stand on the garage step leading into the house while he pulled the car in. While pulling the car in, RJ threw a ball at the car and then he realized that the car was going to run over his ball. He didn’t like the thought of that so He thought he would save his ball. He leapt off the step and placed his hand on the tire wheel hoping to stop the car. But instead the car continued and his hand rolled under the tire smashing his fingers. Instead of letting out a loud cry he just sat there yelling “OW, OW” which Jared heard and turned his head noticing RJ had left the step. He quickly put the car in reverse and rushed RJ into the house who was screaming by then. To make a long story short, we were able to take him to the Clinic for X-rays. He luckily hasn’t broken or sprained anything. The doctors figured he would be bruised within the next few days but it still hasn’t turned balk and blue. I am just so glad that his hand was on the wheel instead of him trying to crawl under the car. But from now on he will be in the house next time we move the car and he knows only Super Man can stop cars he will hopefully never try that again.
