Twin Sister Estate

Ok, you have to check this out! Friday after our trip to Train Town we left the kids with Grandma Pearce and went to check out this Estate sale we had read about in the paper. The paper said that the Estate on Twin Sister Road was selling ever down to the walls including a hot air balloon. We wanted to take a peek at this house house so we went not knowing what to expect. As we drove up Twin Sisters road in Green Valley we realized this house was at the end of the road. Once we reached the end of the pavement we went through a gate and was now on unpaved road. The house we soon learned was another mile + on this road. As we came around a bend we saw this heard of camel each with a price tag of $2,000 each. If that wasn't crazy enough, we turned our heads and saw this elephant coming out of the trees.
And then there was a Giraffe and some Zebra.
We felt like we were on some kind of Safari. Look closely and you can see three other elephant coming out of the tree.
So after our little Safari we finally reached some pavement again leading up to the house. It was blocked off and there was a shuttle taking people up to the house or you can opt to walk. We decided to walk the five minutes up a steep hill to the house. The picture below was us halfway up the driveway.
And here is the view from the front of the house. This House seriously is on the top of the hill. These people own the whole top of this hill!! There view is amazing on all four side!
We later learned that the property is 1,700 acres. The house was a hexagon shape made out of concrete and glass. The exterior walls were pretty much all glass looking out over the Valley. My pictures don't do it justice and there is some links to better pictures done below.

This was awesome, an indoor-outdoor swimming pool that came right up to the edge and was about 6 or 8 feet deep right at the front. You could literally dive into your pool from the inside of your house.
So when I got back to my parents house that night I find out some more info on the house. My Uncle is the head of the family insurance company and it turns out that they just got the account to insure this house. The house was built in 2005 by a couple who owned a chain of discount cigarette stores. The built their dream house and now they are bankrupt and have to sell everything. The house sold for 12.5 million and the man who bought it will use it as a vacation home and vacation rental. Can you imagine having 12 million to spend on a vacation home let alone your own home? Crazy what kind of money some people have. Anyway here are some links to better photos of this house.

Wow! That looks like the type of home, "Metropolitan Home" would feature in their magazine. Increadable. I wonder how they were able to get those wild animals on the estate, and keep them there?
What major city is thie house near?

What a neat thing to come across and in Green Valley! I never would have known about that. Are the animals real?

That is bizarre that they would have fake animals. No wonder they went bankrupt!

I was reading at the other sites, it started at 22 million and sold for 12, that would be our economy for you.

Are you paying over $5 for each pack of cigs? I buy all my cigarettes at Duty Free Depot and I save over 60%.
